About

NATOSTRAP.watch was built on a simple observation: the best strap ever made is still the one issued to British military personnel in 1973. Fifty years later, nothing has matched it for versatility, durability, and ease of use.

We select, curate, and ship NATO straps across Europe — nylon, leather, and perlon — in every width and colourway worth owning. No filler, no compromise.

Why NATO

The NATO strap was born from a British Ministry of Defence specification (Def Stan 66-15) issued in 1973. Its defining feature is the single-pass design: one long piece of nylon that threads under the watch case, meaning your watch stays on your wrist even if a spring bar fails. It is the most secure strap configuration ever designed, and it costs a fraction of what most leather straps do.

Watch collectors discovered it in the 1990s. The rest of the world caught up later. We think it still doesn't get the credit it deserves.

What we do

We source NATO straps from manufacturers who meet our standards for nylon weight, hardware finish, and stitching quality. Every strap listed on nato-strap.watch has been selected against those criteria — not just listed because it was available.

We ship from Europe, keep the catalogue focused, and write honest product descriptions. No inflated claims, no fake reviews, no brand names in the title that have nothing to do with the product.
